This
week, the Electric carmaker Tesla Motors will introduce a new car model and a software
that allows the driver to use the self-driving function.
According to US news
agency UPI, the new models such as the Model S will be equipped with
self-driving function (Autopilot). Some people use other Tesla cars can also
upgrade to this feature by purchasing a software program.
In the official website,
Tesla announced that all the cars belong to S model will be equipped with a
front line radar before entering the market. In addition, these cars will also
be equipped with 12 supersonic long-range sensor which is positioned to sense
the around environment at about 5 metter far away from the car in all
directions at all speed. In terms of safety, the cars with a front camera and
an electronic brake assist system which can operate with high accuracy.
Autopilot is designed
suitably to drive on the high speed way but not in-the-city road with a lot of
traffic light every where. Tesla Model X cars or Model S cars will be launched
after September, 2014 and sold at about 2.500 USD. The manufacture also said
that it might take a few months to finish all the features of Autopilot function
and install it on the cars.
