During this week, Volkswagen confirmed that the number of vehicles affected by the fraud scandal of its emissions could be higher than 800,000 vehicles compared with the initial figure. The company said the cost of treatment of the affected vehicles can be up to 2 billion euros.

This scandal forced CEO Martin Winterkorn to resign and forced the Germans to withdraw about 8.5 million vehicles worldwide.
New CEO of Volkswagen, Mr. Matthias Muller, who replaced Martin Winterkorn said the company would accelerate the process of investigating this incident. "This is such a difficult process, but it’s also the only choice of us. For us, the only thing that makes sense is the truth," Mr. Muller said.
