The air bag pumping sensors in Honda CR-V version 2016 may shatter pieces of metal during the extraction process, which can cause injury to passengers.
This is the latest announcement sent by the US Nation Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) after performing the test about safety of air bag in the front seat of the Honda CR-V 2016.
When the accidents or incidents occur, the pumping sensor will inflate the air bag to reduce collisions and this is completely normal. But some flaws in the sensor casing manufacturing process are the reason to make the air bag becomes dangerous for passengers. Because the metal shell of the sensor may be broken under springing metal fragments so that injure passengers.
The errors related to the air bag manufacturing system which namely belong to Takata in this case once again cause the nuisance for Honda. It seems that the compact Sur CR-V will be listed in the recall of this firm in the near future. Specifically, there might be 515 CR-V cars will be recalled for this error. However, things seem not to be finished because this mistake is the reason for another investigation of manufacturing processes of Takata currently.
